Timothy Leek is an artist, photographer, film maker and teacher. He has an MA in Film, Video and Photography and has received both a William Shipley scholarship and a Goethe Institut photography prize. His work explores photography as performance and has often centred on documenting performers, performances and their rehearsal spaces. Many of these photographs capture the subject absorbed in their theatrical activity, unaware of being photographed, but intensely aware of their as yet imaginary audience. His work also explores temporal themes of journeying and human experience, searching for subjects and people's lives that are often overlooked.

Timothy Leek regularly works in collaboration with other visual artists, musicians and performance artists. He is also a part of ANIMATE ARTS COMPANY LTD a community arts company that produces and runs art workshops and projects for schools and the community.
